Investing in rental housing

As a result of the crisis, the production of new houses slowed down. Meanwhile, population growth and the increasing number of households have increased housing demand. To combat the present shortages and meet future demand, an estimated 125,000 – 155,000 additional rental homes are needed in the next years.

The rental market

The rental market accounts for 40% of the total housing market. Demand for rental housing is increasing.

The regulated market

The regulated market consists of rental houses with a rent below a government-determined threshold. In 2016, this threshold is €710 per month.

The non-regulated market

The non-regulated market is the fastest growing segment of the Dutch housing market.

Transforming office space

The conversion of vacant office space into housing presents an increasingly interesting opportunity for private investors.
