According to a recent report published by ING Bank, only 4% of all homeowners in the Netherlands have a hard time meeting their monthly mortgage obligations. This makes the Netherlands the best scoring country of those evaluated. In addition, most homeowners in Europe are confident that housing prices in their neighbourhood will increase over the next 12 months. British and Italian homeowners have the most negative expectations, while their Dutch counterparts are exceptionally optimistic. Three-quarters of the Dutch homeowners expect further price increases in the coming year.
